OEC/OEC Fiber Triumphs: Crowned Large Business of the Year

Business of the Year

Oklahoma Electric Cooperative and OEC Fiber received the prestigious “Large Business of the Year” award. The Norman Chamber of Commerce bestowed the award in a ceremony at the Embassy Suites in Norman, OK, on Feb 1. This recognition highlights our commitment to positively impacting the communities we serve. It reflects the core values that drive us every day.

“Accepting such a prestigious award serves as a profound acknowledgment of the collective dedication and unwavering commitment demonstrated by our employees,” said OEC CEO, Patrick Grace. “They prioritize our members and subscribers in every interaction. The level of service they provide each day is unmatched. They are what makes this award possible.”

Much like the pioneering spirit of farmers in 1937, OEC and OEC Fiber are now revolutionizing rural internet access the way they did electrification. Cooperatives rely on the principle of banding together to help friends and neighbors as their backbone. With nearly 38,000 subscribers to date, OEC Fiber leads the charge for rural broadband in central Oklahoma.

“We are truly making a difference in the world,” said OEC Fiber President, David Goodspeed. “The impact of what we are doing will be remembered 50 years from now. The mark we are making on the world will have an everlasting impact those of us alive today can’t even imagine.”

Awards like the one given to OEC and OEC Fiber by the Norman Chamber of Commerce are a great honor. Still, there are other driving forces behind the cooperative mission. These awards are not the mission. They reinforce its importance.

OEC and OEC Fiber aim to improve the lives of those in their communities. Whether electrifying their homes and businesses, or keeping them connected at the speed of light, serving others and giving back will continue to be the driving force behind them for generations to come.
